We travel for different reasons. We may be traveling to escape the busy life in the city. We may be traveling to explore a new environment, or we may be traveling to learn.Regardless, this reasons have one goal, it is to make us happy.
First, when the going gets tough in the urban world we tend to look for a temporary escape to clear our minds. Traveling to a new place may give us that. For example, school stress is starting to get into your head, you may want to go to the beach just to relax and calm your mind. This will help you get your act together and make you happy. When you get back, you're more than ready to take on the work.
Next, as much as we love our own place, we tend to want to discover new and exciting places. Humans as we are, we have this innate need to discover and explore. When we hear about a beautiful place, our first thought is to see it. We travel to experience what that place has to offer.
Lastly, traveling teaches us. No place has the same culture. By traveling, we can learn about the uniqueness and the variety of people and culture a place has. We can learn that it is okay to slurp your noodles or soup in Japan, but it will be considered rude in some place else. Or we can learn that in some places, they greet people by kissing and in some place else that is deemed inappropriate.
Traveling is an opportunity for you to see the world in a whole new perspective. You may have different purposes in traveling, but let's agree on one thing: Traveling makes us happy.
